GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - Police say a 93-year-old man has died of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle collision in Great Falls.

The Cascade County sheriff’s office tells the Great Falls Tribune (https://gftrib.com/Q8v3JL ) that Gilbert Schmaus was traveling east on 10th Avenue South at about 6 p.m. Saturday when his car struck a westbound sport utility vehicle while making a left turn.

Neither Schmaus nor his passenger appeared to have significant injuries, but were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Police say within hours, Schmaus’ condition became critical as a result of what was thought to be an undiagnosed internal injury. He died at the hospital.
