PARK RIDGE, Ill. (AP) - Most of the people injured in a train derailment at O’Hare International Airport have been released from area hospitals.
More than 30 people were injured when the Chicago Transit Authority train jumped the tracks early Monday, skidded across a platform and scaled an escalator leading to the airport.
Officials Presence Resurrection Medical Center and Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago say 14 patients were treated and released. Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago officials say seven of their eight patients were treated and released. One patient remained hospitalized for unrelated reasons.
And seven patients were treated and released from Lutheran General Hospital in suburban Park Ridge.
None of the injuries were life-threatening.
