FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - Frederick police say a $7,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the slaying of a local man.

Police say the family and friends of 36-year-old Lamont Ellis of Frederick have put up the reward.

Ellis was found in a downtown alley on Sept. 30, 2012 suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at a local hospital, and police believe the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt.
