POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (AP) - What began as a shooting has ended in a chase and fatal crash in Broward County.
The sheriff’s office reports two suspects shot at a man and woman in Pompano Beach Sunday at about 5 a.m. Investigators say the gunman may have thought the man was someone else. No one was hit by the bullets.
The suspects then fled and the victims followed.
The suspects’ vehicle crashed in the northbound lanes of I-95. One occupant was killed and the other was taken to Broward Health North Medical Center in critical condition. He will be charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.
