“Homeland” actor James Rebhorn died at his home in New Jersey on Friday night after a long battle with skin cancer, his wife said Sunday. He was 65.
His wife, Rebecca, told TMZ that the actor was diagnosed with melanoma in 1992 and had recently begun receiving hospice care at his New Jersey home.
Mr. Rebhorn played Frank Mathison in the Showtime drama “Homeland.” He portrayed the father of Claire Danes’ character.
He also appeared in “Meet the Parents,” “Scent of a Woman,” and “Independence Day.”
Mr. Rebhorn is survived by his wife and two daughters, Emma and Hannah.
