FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A former Fairbanks man who drew the ire of neighbors after the detonation of recreational explosives outside his home has been convicted of federal gun charges.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (https://bit.ly/1hQtcRa) reports Guy “Chris” Mannino pleaded guilty Friday to three firearms offenses and one connected to fraudulently concealing assets during a bankruptcy case.
Mannino was a licensed part-time gun dealer and a chiropractor in Fairbanks. Law enforcement officers investigated explosions at his outdoor gun range that created a shock wave and damaged neighboring homes.
A search in that investigation unveiled weapons that federal authorities said were not properly documented.
Mannino moved to Tennessee last year. He was arrested at a Nashville airport in September. He has been in custody since the arrest.
He will be sentenced in June.
