BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Fire officials say one child has died and three others escaped after flames broke out in an early morning house fire in Buffalo.

Fire officials tell WIVB-TV (https://bit.ly/ONTdYC ) that the fire that broke out just before 7 a.m. Sunday killed a 7-year-old child. Two adults and three other children had already gotten out of the home when firefighters arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were unable to enter the 2½-story building because of the intense flames. The child’s body was recovered after the fire was brought under control.

Authorities say two firefighters suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
