CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police say a girl around 1 year old has been found alone in the entryway of an apartment building on the Far South Side.
She was discovered Friday night in the building’s vestibule. The girl was wrapped in a purple blanket with a picture of an angel on it and was wearing a pink jacket.
A community alert put out by police describes her as black, 30 inches tall and 24 pounds, and asks anyone with information about her identity or family to call the Chicago Police Department.
The girl was taken to a hospital in good condition and was later released. She is in the custody of child welfare authorities.
It was not clear how long she had been in the apartment entryway before she was discovered.
