GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) - Guthrie firefighters say a 15-year-old boy has been killed in a house fire.

Fire Chief Eric Harlow told reporters the boy died in the fire that was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Harlow says the boy’s younger brother and his mother were able to escape the burning home.

No names have been released.

Harlow says flames had broken through the roof of the home when firefighters arrived and that the three were apparently asleep when the fire started.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office has been asked to help determine the cause of the fire.
