FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A teenager accused of theft and vandalism at a Fairbanks elementary school has been sentenced to 45 days in jail.

Mason Bizzarro received the sentence after pleading guilty to felony criminal mischief and other charges Friday in the May 2013 vandalism of Two Rivers Elementary School.

18-year-old Bizzarro was one of three teen suspects. The three were accused of causing $10,000 in damage to the school and stealing $7,000 in electronics equipment.



The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports (https://bit.ly/1gdgU7y ) Bizzarro was also ordered to pay restitution and perform community service.

His co-defendant Wesley Travis Phillips previously received the same sentence.

The third suspect, a 14-year-old boy, is being prosecuted through the juvenile justice system.

Bizzarro apologized in court to the state of Alaska, the Two Rivers community and the school’s principal.
