BENTON, Ill. (AP) - A southern Illinois man has been ordered to spend two months in federal prison for defrauding a bank of $80,000.
Thirty-nine-year-old Mark Troehler of Herrin also was sentenced Thursday to two months of post-prison home confinement and three years of supervised release.
Troehler already had pleaded guilty to charges he submitted false lien waivers to the Bank of Marion after he had taken out a construction loan.
Authorities allege that while working as a contractor at the time, Troehler used the loan money for personal and unrelated businesses expenses. False documents he supplied to the bank indicted the money was being used to build a Herrin home.
Troehler has been ordered to repay the bank.
