OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) - A two-vehicle crash has claimed the life of an Opelousas woman.

Louisiana State Troopers say 27-year-old Brandi Chambers of Opelousas died Friday night after turning in front of a truck driven by a Morrow man.

Troopers say Chambers was driving west on Louisiana 10 at Louisiana 182 in a 2003 Chevrolet Impala when she turned in front of a 2012 Dodge truck driven by Brandon Fisher.

The 28-year-old Fisher’s truck hit the car’s passenger side. Chambers, wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was thrown from her car, and died at the scene.

Fisher, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Troopers say they don’t know if either driver had been drinking, but say samples will be analyzed at the state crime lab.
