FLOYD, Iowa (AP) - The man charged with killing 5-year-old Evelyn Miller is again seeking to delay his trial.

Casey Frederiksen is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree sexual abuse in Evelyn’s 2005 death. His trial, already delay from last year, had been set to begin May 5.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1jmwKvq) that an attorney for 34-year-old Casey Frederiksen filed a motion this week seeking additional time to prepare.

The court has not issued a decision on whether to grant the delay.

Frederiksen was the live-in boyfriend of Evelyn’s mother. The trial has been moved from Floyd County due to pretrial publicity.

Frederiksen is being held in the Bremer County Jail.
