CLINTON, Okla. (AP) - An autopsy report on a Clinton man killed by Custer County deputies says the man was shot seven times, then was handcuffed.

The report released Friday says 18-year-old Mah-hi-vist Goodblanket was also shot twice with a stun gun.

Sheriff Bruce Peoples told The Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/1jfECDb ) that the stun gun failed to stop Goodblanket and that handcuffing him after the shooting is consistent with law enforcement procedure.

Deputies were called by Goodblanket’s parents to his home on Dec. 21 because he was breaking windows and doors. Deputies say they opened fire after he attacked them with a knife.

An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation report on the shooting has been given District Attorney Dennis Smith - who says a decision on whether the shooting was justified is expected within 10 days.
