PHOENIX (AP) - Two children in Phoenix have been hospitalized in the span of a few hours in separate drowning incidents.
Firefighters were called to a north Phoenix apartment complex Saturday afternoon after a 3-year-old girl was found in a swimming pool.
Authorities say the girl is in serious condition.
No details were given about how she ended up in the pool.
Capt. Jonathan Jacobs says a 1-year-old boy is in critical condition at Phoenix Children’s Hospital after he was found around 11:30 a.m. in the family’s swimming pool.
Capt. Jonathan Jacobs says firefighters administered CPR to the boy, who was not breathing.
Authorities say both parents were home and the pool did have a fence.
Jacobs says Phoenix police are investigating how the child managed to get into the pool.
