CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - David Park netted 21 points and nine rebounds to lead Wheeling Central to a 71-54 win over Clay-Battelle in the Class A semifinals Friday.
Wheeling Central shot 50 percent from the long-range (12-24) in the contest.
Wheeling Central never trailed and advanced to the state championship for the first time since 2009, when it defeated Charleston Catholic 49-43.
Boyd Bibey had 18 points and Chase Harler added 17 points for top-seeded Wheeling Central (24-3).
Zach Chisler and Tristian Haught had 15 points for fourth-seeded Clay-Battelle (21-6).
Wheeling Central will face third-seeded Charleston Catholic (21-6) in Saturday’s championship game.
