LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - A 29-year-old man arrested following a shootout with a Longmont police officer has pleaded guilty to attempted murder and assault.

According to the Longmont Times-Call (https://tinyurl.com/m8tpx8w ), Jonathan Shank pleaded guilty Friday to all the charges filed against him and he did not receive a plea deal in the case.

Authorities say Longmont police officer Brent Cairns pulled over a car Shank was driving on May 22 because the vehicle’s headlights were off.

Authorities say Shank got out of his car and fired a semi-automatic rifle at Cairns, and the officer returned fire, wounding Shank. Cairns was unhurt.

Police say Shank’s blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit for driving.

Shank faces up to 128 years in prison. Sentencing is set for June 6.
