SMITHTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a Long Island school bus driver accused of bullying elementary school children has been fired.
Newsday (https://bit.ly/1ghy98J ) reports the driver drove students to and from Mills Pond Elementary in St. James. He wasn’t identified.
The school learned of the allegations on Tuesday.
The president of the Smithtown school board says the driver was fired on Wednesday by Towne Bus Co. The company has a contract with the district. It couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
