KENMARE, N.D. (AP) - Authorities in Ward County say they’ve arrested a Kenmare woman on murder and child abuse or neglect charges related to the January death of her 13-year-old son.
Jessica Lee Jensen, who authorities say was born in 1978, was booked in the Ward County Jail on Friday pending an initial court appearance. Attorney information was not listed in court records.
The Ward County Sheriff’s Department says Jensen called Minot Central Dispatch on the night of Jan. 12 and told the 911 operator her 13-year-old son was deceased. Kenmare police and emergency responders found the unresponsive boy not breathing and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The department started an investigation to gather evidence, treated the home as a crime scene and arranged for an autopsy.
