TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Police say a teenager is expected to survive after he was shot five times in a cab in New Jersey’s capital city.

The 18-year-old got into the cab on Walnut Avenue in Trenton just before midnight Thursday.

Police Lt. Mark Kieffer tells The Times of Trenton (https://bit.ly/1eZEalh ) the cab driver spotted two gunmen and took off as they opened fire.



Kieffer says the teen was shot in the back and right arm. He’s expected to survive. His name has not been released.

The cab driver was not injured, but the rear window was shot out.
