ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 34-year-old man is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on murder charges in the death of a woman in 2010.

An Anchorage grand jury Wednesday indicted Simon Douglas Smith on first- and second-degree murder counts in the death of 26-year-old Nichole Millsaps of Wasilla.

Prosecutors in an announcement say the indictment caps a four-year investigation by Alaska State Troopers.

Millsaps disappeared in April 2010.

A hiker on Feb. 9 found a skull near a road in Indian between Anchorage and Girdwood that investigators linked to Millsaps. A woman’s clothing also was found at the site.

Prosecutors say Smith if convicted would face a sentence of 20 to 99 years in prison.

Smith is in custody at Cook Inlet Pretrial Facility.
