MONROE, La. (AP) - A 36-year-old man convicted of multiple drug charges broke his hand in a Monroe courtroom after a jury issued its verdict.

The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/1hNkCT4 ) 12-person jury found David Manning guilty of possession of marijuana, cocaine and Ecstasy, all with the intent to distribute.

Each of the three counts carries penalties of up to 30 years in jail.

Judge Daniel Ellender revoked Manning’s bond and instructed officers to take him to Ouachita Correctional Center.

After the jury and Ellender left the courtroom, authorities say Manning hit the wall in frustration.

He was taken to University Health Conway, where it was determined that he had broken his hand.
