AURORA, Colo. (AP) - A man shot and killed by an Anschutz Medical Center campus police officer has been identified as 50-year-old Joseph Oliver Gorden.
The coroner for Adams and Broomfield counties released Gorden’s name Friday. Authorities previously said he was a University of Colorado Hospital employee who recently resigned.
He was killed Wednesday.
Police in Aurora, which includes the medical center campus, say they responded to a report of a suicidal man in the hospital parking lot. They say he fled in an SUV when officers tried to contact him.
He was shot and killed after a pursuit.
Aurora police are investigating the shooting.
