RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - At least two Republicans will be vying for a Wyoming House seat in Fremont County that’s being vacated by a Democrat.
They are Daniel Cardenas and Jim Allen, who announced their campaigns at the Fremont County Republican convention last weekend.
Democratic Rep. Patrick Goggles announced two weeks ago he won’t seek re-election after holding the seat for 10 years. His district covers southern Fremont County.
The Riverton Ranger reports (www.dailyranger.com) Cardenas is 39 and served on a tribal council in California before moving to the district in 2004. Allen is a 61-year-old rancher and hunting guide.
The two ran against each other for the same seat in the 2012 Republican primary. Allen won the nomination with 79 percent.
