FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) - The Fond du Lac Humane Society says the two puppies injured with bleach are now ready for adoption.

The puppies gained attention when one was found in a plastic bag in a trash container in Fond du Lac last month. Police say a boy dumped bleach on the two puppies because one was biting his feet.

The boy’s mother is charged with failing to take action after learning about the injured dogs. The puppies suffered burns and eye ulcers. The puppy found in the trash had lung damage.

WBAY-TV (https://bit.ly/1fKncH2 ) reports veterinarians have checked the puppies and found they’re ready for adoption. Local Humane Society director Renee Web says they are going to be “very, very normal puppies.”
