TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says it’s resolved the second issue that caused its new 911 system to have an outage earlier this week.
The Sheriff’s Department says backup facilities are no longer being used and that the next system is fully functional.
The 23-minute outage Monday afternoon affected 54 callers from unincorporated areas who were trying to reach the emergency line.
The department’s dispatch center moved last weekend to a new 911-dispatch center in Tucson.
The new $102 million Pima County Wireless Integrated Network is a new emergency radio dispatch system that will allow first responders from various local agencies to talk to one another on radios.
