SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A firefighter injured when a wall fell on him as he battled a Lindon blaze Tuesday is in the hospital and on the mend.
The Orem Department of Public Safety said Wednesday that 59-year-old Battalion Chief Layne Pace sustained serious injuries to his shoulder, hip and pelvis.
Orem DPS Lt. Craig Martinez said Pace is in stable condition after fighting the Tuesday fire at the Vivint office building in Lindon.
The Daily Herald of Provo reports (https://bit.ly/1eTuybM ) Pace was rescued by his fellow firefighters on Tuesday.
An ambulance rushed him the hospital, where he had surgery and is now recovering in the intensive care unit.
