ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - The Alaska Housing Finance Corp. has a little more money to work with.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development says in a release that the Alaska agency has been awarded $2.2 million for large-scale improvements to its public housing units in the state.

The federal award is about $130,000 higher than last year.



The corporation owns and operates about 1,300 properties across the state.
