Glendale woman accused of having sex with a minor

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old Glendale woman is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy.

Glendale police say Anna Areola-Hernandez is being held on suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor, child molestation, unlawful age misrepresentation and an adult posing as a minor for a sexual conduct.

Areola-Hernandez had her initial court appearance Thursday and was ordered held without bond because of the charges. She doesn’t have a lawyer yet and has a March 31 preliminary hearing in the case.

The boy’s mother alerted police about the relationship last month.

Detectives say Areola-Hernandez allegedly used several social media and texting apps to contact other juveniles.

They say Areola-Hernandez often posed as a 15-year-old girl.

Police are investigating to determine if there are any other victims in the case.
