OAK FOREST, Ill. (AP) - A funeral service will be held this weekend for a longtime suburban Chicago police officer who died after a crash in Oak Forest.

Sixty-two-year-old James Morrissey died Monday, hours after his squad car was broadsided while he was responding to a call.

The Southtown Star reports (https://bit.ly/1dsKMIs ) Saturday’s funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park. It will be followed by a procession to Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.



A visitation will be held Friday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Morrissey worked for the Oak Forest police department for more than 30 years.
