STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) - Federal agents have raided the accounting business owned by the mayor of Stillwater.

Agents from agencies including the FBI, ATF and the Internal Revenue Service conducted the raid Thursday morning at Customized Payroll Solutions.

IRS special agent Vicki Petricka told the Star Tribune (https://strib.mn/1lTe7Rv ) the raid was part of an enforcement action, but would not elaborate.

In a statement, Stillwater Mayor Ken Harycki (huh-RIK’-ee) said the raid involved a former client.

Harycki says he is “deeply disappointed by this situation” and is “fully cooperating” with authorities.

The inspector general’s office of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services also took part in the raid. That office fights waste, fraud and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid.

The mayor’s business provides tax preparation and other accounting services, according to his website.
