CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Nick George had 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead Charleston Catholic to a 54-44 win over Valley Fayette in the Class A quarterfinals Thursday.

Charleston Catholic overcame a 21-18 halftime deficit to take the lead for good, 28-27, on Russell Miller’s tip-in with 2:26 left in the third quarter. That started an 8-0 run to end the quarter that gave the Irish a 36-29 lead.

Patrick Hurlihy added 15 points and eight rebounds for third-seeded Charleston Catholic (20-6).



Zac Warden led sixth-seeded Valley-Fayette (22-4) with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Charleston Catholic advanced to the semifinals for the 10th straight season. During that run it won titles in 2006, 2007 and 2012.
