JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - The Senate Education Committee will continue taking public testimony Monday on the base student allocation portion of Gov. Sean Parnell’s omnibus education bill.

The bill will be heard in conjunction with a bill introduced by Sen. Berta Gardner, a Democrat from Anchorage, who is proposing an allocation increase of $404 per student for next year and an inflationary component to the budget formula.

The Parnell bill proposes only an $85 per student increase next year without an inflationary component.
