DALLAS (AP) - A Dallas man using a firearm for target practice in his yard has been arrested after a stray bullet shattered the window of a nearby home and critically injured a 9-year-old girl.

Cristian Manzano is facing charges that include a felony count of causing injury to a child. The 20-year-old Manzano was being held Sunday at the Dallas County jail with bond set at $31,500.

Police say the stray bullet pierced a kitchen window Saturday and struck the unidentified girl in the head. She was taken to a Dallas hospital where she was listed in critical condition Saturday evening.

The investigation into the shooting continues.

Online jail records don’t indicate an attorney for Manzano.
