ROGERS, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State police say a person was killed when an SUV went off an icy Interstate 540 and rolled into a creek.

Television station KHBS reported Sunday (https://bit.ly/1ltFQdU ) that the vehicle was soutbound when the driver lost control, crossed lanes and went over the side of a bridge and into a creek.

Emergency crews were able to pull the driver and front-seat passenger from the vehicle. The person in the back seat was pronounced dead at the scene. KHBS said the coroner reported that that passenger was not wearing a seat belt.



Troopers had not released a name pending notification of relatives.

Snow, sleet and freezing rain had fallen in the area Sunday.
