FORT MEYERS, Fla. (AP) - Lee County sheriff’s deputies say they shot and injured a man after he rammed their squad cars at Fort Meyers-area gas station.

Authorities say the man was at a gas pump early Sunday when deputies tried to talk to him about a possible stolen vehicle.

They say the man rammed his vehicle into two squad cars and attempted to run over deputies.

After he was shot, the driver crashed his car into a parked truck and tried to run away on foot before he was caught and arrested.

The man sustained non-life threatening injuries and no sheriff’s deputies were injured.
