MARTINEZ, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in eastern Georgia say three people were injured when a car plowed into a dollar store in Martinez.
Columbia County Battalion Chief Anthony Lovett tells the Augusta Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1pPKUKu) three women were taken to the Georgia Regents Medical Center after the crash on Saturday evening.
Lovett says the car plowed into a cash register and a cashier suffered a severe leg injury. A witness told the newspaper that the cashier was temporarily pinned beneath the car and was bleeding from a leg wound. Lovett says the driver suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is unclear and details on whether charges will be filed weren’t immediately available.
Martinez is just northwest of Augusta.
