BELLMAWR, N.J. (AP) - Eight units were damaged and 19 people were displaced when a fast-moving fire roared through a southern New Jersey apartment complex.
It’s not yet clear what sparked the fire at the Bellmawr Manor complex, which was reported around 4 p.m. Saturday. But authorities say it does not appear to be suspicious, and no injuries were reported.
The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill (https://on.cpsj.com/1eR5iSv) reports that firefighters found heavy fire conditions in an attic space above the building’s second-floor, but were soon forced to back out as the roof started to collapse.
They were finally able to bring the fire under control about an hour later.
The American Red Cross was assisting the 11 adults and eight children displaced in the fire.
