BREITUNG TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say snowmobile crashes have claimed two lives in Michigan, including a man who died in the western Upper Peninsula and another killed in the southwestern Lower Peninsula.
State police say the latest crash happened about 2 a.m. Sunday in Dickinson County’s Breitung Township. They say a passer-by spotted the male victim unresponsive along a road.
The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released. The site is about two miles northwest of Iron Mountain in the western Upper Peninsula.
On Saturday, a 45-year-old man was killed when his snowmobile collided with a parked SUV in Van Buren County’s Columbia Township in southwestern lower Michigan.
The sheriff’s department says the crash happened about 9:15 p.m. in Columbia Township. It identifies the victim as Scott Friend of Decatur.
