STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) - Police in suburban Atlanta say two people have been killed in a crash on the Stone Mountain Highway.

Authorities say a car hit a guardrail and overturned Sunday morning. A woman was ejected from the car and a man also died of his injuries.

DeKalb County Police Lt. Charles Barkett tells WSB-TV (https://bit.ly/1fSYRmm ) it’s unclear how the driver lost control of the vehicle, but speed may have been a factor. The victims’ identities haven’t been released.

The accident prompted lane closures on Stone Mountain Freeway - also known as Highway 78 - and drivers were being told to avoid the area while authorities investigated.
