RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia’s Commonwealth Transportation Board has awarded five contracts worth $72.7 million for new construction and paving projects.
The board awarded the contracts at a meeting Wednesday.
The projects include improvements in Fredericksburg, the building of a bike trail tied to the Virginia Capital Trail, Interstate 295 pavement rehabilitation, as well as work in Hanover, Spotsylvania and Stafford counties.
Officials say the projects will improve traffic flow, benefit safety and extend the life of the state’s transportation infrastructure.
