PERRYVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A Perry County town has passed a local law that bans texting by teen drivers and truckers.

The Southeast Missourian (bit.ly/NtTwXD ) reports that the Perryville Board of Aldermen voted unanimously Tuesday to ban the use of cellphones by drivers age 21 and younger and commercial drivers to send, read or write electronic messages.

The ordinance also makes it illegal for anyone, regardless of age, to use a hand-held mobile phone while driving a commercial vehicle.
