NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City concierge-service entrepreneur has been sentenced to at least four years in prison for swindling thousands of dollars from clients who sought luxury hotel rooms and tickets to elite events.
Robert Giuliano was sentenced Wednesday to four to eight years in prison. He pleaded guilty in November to grand larceny and other charges.
The 38-year-old Giuliano touted access to presidential inaugurals, celebrity parties, “and other ultra-exclusive A-list events and experiences.”
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. says Giuliano used some clients’ credit cards to pay for hotel rooms for other customers. Prosecutors say Giuliano sometimes charged his own hotel stays to his employees’ credit cards and broke promises to reimburse the workers.
His lawyer didn’t immediately return a call Wednesday evening.
