Mother accused of biting children is charged

MARSHFIELD, Wis. (AP) - A Marshfield mother accused of biting her children is charged with felony child abuse.

Prosecutors say an investigation began after the woman’s 6-year-old child had bruises on his bottom. The child told investigators that in addition to spanking, his mother also bit him.

Court documents say investigators also talked to Helen Mikes’ 8-year-old child. A criminal complaint says the child told them his mother had bitten him on the arm twice.

The 29-year-old mother is due back in court April 11. WSAW-TV (https://bit.ly/1lPfd0s ) says she’s free on a signature bond. Mikes’ attorney did not immediately return a call for comment.
