BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) - A Beckley nurse convicted of illegally obtaining a prescription painkiller will spend three years on probation.

Thirty-eight-year-old Crystal Gail Graham also must perform 100 hours of community service.

Graham had pleaded guilty last November to obtaining oxycodone by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception and subterfuge. She was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Beckley.

Federal prosecutors say Graham used her position as a licensed practical nurse at Jackie Withrow Hospital to illegally obtain oxycodone. She later sold the drug to a Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department confidential informant. The hospital terminated her employment.
