PITTSBURGH (AP) - A western Pennsylvania medical examiner has confirmed that a Pittsburgh-area man bled to death as he was driving to a hospital for treatment of a surgical incision that had reopened.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1j2sy8t ) reports that the Allegheny County medical examiner concluded Tuesday that the death of 34-year-old John Yuhas of Emsworth stemmed from a ruptured stent and was due to natural causes.
Investigators said Yuhas’ girlfriend told them he called her early Sunday to say he was bleeding and driving to the hospital, and he was found dead in his car at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday on the shoulder of Interstate 279 in the suburb of Ohio Township. His girlfriend and relatives say he had a history of kidney problems and had surgery last month on his arm.
