FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) - Two fires that have been burning on a remote training range of a Central Texas military installation are largely contained.

The Austin American-Statesman (https://bit.ly/1ekOW8O ) reports that both fires ignited during training Tuesday when soldiers set off incendiary rounds.

By early afternoon Wednesday, Fort Hood officials said in a news release that the fire on the northeast part of the range was 100 percent contained and the fire on the western part was 90 percent contained.

Fire officials remain on the scene of the 200-acre fire in the western section. The news release said that due to dry conditions and high winds in the area, flare ups with that fire are possible.
