MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The leader of a north Alabama’s community college is now on administrative leave and plans to retire later this year.
Alabama Community College System officials said in a statement Tuesday that President of Bevill State Community College Anne McNutt is planning to retire on July 1.
Alabama Community College System Chancellor Dr. Mark A. Heinrich says he’ll assume full daily administrative responsibilities at the community college until an acting president is appointed.
Heinrich says he wants to take the time to listen to administrators, staff, students and community leaders before a new president is selected.
Officials say Bevill State Community College runs campuses in Jasper, Fayette, Sumiton and Hamilton. The school also operates a site in Pickens County.
