PROSSER, Wash. (AP) - A high school in southeast Washington was briefly evacuated and seven people were taken to a hospital as a precaution after a chemical smell was reported in one of the school’s restrooms.
The Tri-City Herald reports (https://is.gd/46mUvo ) that a school district official said Prosser High School was evacuated for about 20 minutes Tuesday afternoon.
Assistant Superintendent Mary Snitily says four students and three staff members were checked at a local hospital and released.
She says the school is trying to determine the cause of the smell, which she says was not a gas leak.
