HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities in northern New Jersey are investigating a reported luring attempt, the sixth such incident in the past two weeks.

Police in Hackensack say a student at the city’s middle school reported being approached by a man while walking to school around 7:30 a.m. on Monday. The student declined the man’s request for help in looking for a lost dog.

Hackensack Police Capt. Thomas Salcedo tells The Record (https://bit.ly/PLGO8L ) that the man was described as white or Hispanic between 20 or 30 years old with a goatee. He was last seen driving a black two-door Honda on Union Street.

Police are also investigating reports of luring attempts in Leonia, Norwood and Ridgefield Park. They don’t believe the incidents are related, and descriptions of the suspects are different in each case.
